A Unique Site with a Complex Brief
Working inside a Grade I listed government building in the heart of Westminster is no small task. The FCDO is not just an operational headquarters — it’s an iconic, secure and heavily regulated site.
We were brought in for a highly specialised project involving confined space entry, inspection and access works, designed to support wider mechanical and facilities infrastructure.
Health, Safety & Compliance First
Given the nature of the environment and the confined access areas involved, full risk assessments, permit-to-work systems and atmospheric monitoring were non-negotiable.
Our team wore specialist confined space PPE and operated under a controlled method statement, with continuous gas level monitoring using the Dräger X-am 2500 and fall arrest gear in place.
The space we accessed had:
Narrow vertical entry points
Obstructed airflows
Complex mechanical ductwork
Hazard zones requiring strict safety briefings
Project Highlights:
✅ Fully compliant confined space entry
✅ Live monitoring of air quality and gases
✅ Installation of safety barriers and trap access protection
✅ Close coordination with site supervisors and security
✅ Work completed with no disruption to live FCDO operations
Delivering in High-Security Government Environments
This job isn’t just about working in tight spaces — it’s about working with total precision in secure, diplomatic buildings, where professionalism and discretion are just as important as technical skill.
We’re incredibly proud to have been trusted with a project of this nature — and even more proud of the team for handling it with calm, competence and care.
