Role Overview
As a Roofer with Barry Turner and Son you will be responsible for carrying out roofing works on pitched and flat roofs, ensuring all jobs are completed to company standards and in line with health and safety requirements. You will work across a variety of projects including refurbishments, reactive repairs and planned maintenance.
You will be expected to represent the business professionally on site, maintain good communication with supervisors and clients, and keep accurate records of work completed.
Key Responsibilities
Carry out roofing repairs, renewals and installations on domestic and commercial properties
Work with a range of materials including tiles, slates, felt, single ply and liquid systems
Identify roofing defects and provide practical solutions
Ensure all work is completed to specification, within agreed timescales
Follow company health and safety procedures at all times, including working at height requirements
Use company systems to record job details, materials used and photographs where required
Maintain a clean, safe and tidy working environment on every job
Work closely with supervisors, office staff and other trades to deliver projects smoothly
Provide a polite, professional service to tenants, clients and other site users
Skills & Experience Needed
Proven experience working as a Roofer in domestic and or commercial settings
Confident working at height, with knowledge of access equipment and safe systems of work
Good understanding of different roofing systems and materials
Ability to diagnose faults and carry out effective repairs
Strong attention to detail and pride in workmanship
Good communication skills and a positive, team focused attitude
Able to work independently and manage your own workload on site
Qualifications and Requirements
Full UK driving licence required
Valid CSCS card preferred
Working at Height and Asbestos Awareness training beneficial
Right to work in the UK
